Salary: £10 per hour (£7.55 apprenticeship wage plus top up of £2.45) for first 12 months and then age related National Minimum Wage

What’s the job?
We are looking for our first HR assistant and we are offering this as an apprenticeship. You do not need experience in HR but you need to have some understanding of the role of HR within organisations.
What you’ll be doing
Working alongside our Head of HR and HR Manager you will be part of a team providing professional HR support to our charity. Specifically this includes:
HR Administration
Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records across various HR systems ensuring compliance with data protection regulations.
Assist with HR administrative tasks including preparing employment contracts, conducting Right to Work checks, managing HR documentation.
Liaise with Finance to ensure maintenance of accurate and timely payroll related information.
Review HR policies & procedures and make recommendations as required to ensure compliance with legislation.
To produce HR data packs and reports using Excel and other software as required.
HR Support
Supporting Managers, Supervisors and Employees with routine HR enquiries.
Provide administrative support at formal meetings including disciplinary and grievance meetings as appropriate.
Recruitment & Selection
Provide administrative support for recruitment activities including placing adverts, applicant tracking, scheduling interviews etc.
Ensuring references, Right to Work and other documentation is in place as part of our recruitment process.
Assist in the preparation of interview packs, and participate in interviews where applicable.
Onboarding & Induction
Support the onboarding process for new starters, including preparing induction packs, tracking progress against Jericho’s induction checklist, and conducting onboarding meetings where appropriate.
Absence Management
Ensuring employee absence records are properly maintained, and support in the calculation and communication of holiday entitlements.
HR Projects
Support ongoing HR projects including employee experience, wellbeing and other HR initiatives as part of Jericho’s future HR ambitions.
Other Duties
Any other reasonable duties as requested by your manager.
In addition you will spend six hours a week working on your apprenticeship, this will be a mix of training provided by the apprenticeship provider and relevant work based training
Who are we looking for?
No HR experience is necessary but you need to have GCSE at 4 or above (or equivalent) in both English and Maths to meet the requirements for the apprenticeship.
You also need to be confident in using email, and Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
Ability and willingness to occasionally travel to our other sites across Birmingham and surrounding areas to support managers.
